Swords are the weapon of choice for the rogues we are leveling when playing our wow accounts. Now when you are looking to upgrade swords it is very important you know what to look for when choosing a new sword.
Speed and Max Damage are the 2 main focus points when selecting a new sword. Level means nothing. Here are 2 examples of 2Â different swords.
Knightly Longsword
Binds when equipped
One-Hand Sword
21 – 40 Damage
Speed 1.50 (20.3 damage per second)
<Random enchantment>
Durability 75 / 75 Requires Level 33
Mercenary Blade
Binds when equipped
One-Hand Sword
31 – 59 Damage
Speed 2.40(18.8 damage per second)
<Random enchantment>
Durability 75 / 75 Requires Level 31
The 2 above swords while close in level one is far superior to the other. The speed and Max Damage Are vastly different. What swords would you pick for your world of warcraft account?
If you picked the Knightly Longsword i am sorry to say you are wrong. Yes it might be level 33 it might have 20.3 dps over 18.8 dps, but we do not look at the dps or the level when looking for a new weapon. Dps is for long fights that take more then a normal amount of time to kill aka boss fights. Our bots require burst damage to fight. So the 2 main stats we want to look for are slow swords with high max damage. 59 > 40, 2.40 > 1.50. So even though the Mercenary Blade is 2 levels lower it is still the weapon of choice. This goes for every single upgrade the bot will get over its life span. Keep in mind this method applies only to Warriors, Rogues and hunter ranged weapons.

Also while a blue weapon / piece of equipment is far superior to a green of the same level most times. It should not be bought off the auction house typically. As they tend to be over priced, Unless the blue is 3-5 gold do not buy it! It does not matter if the bot has 100 gold at level 15, it is a waste of money that can be spent better at higher levels.
