Good news for all the WOW fans that Blizzard’s most played World of Warcraft game would now be adapted into an onscreen flick by the legendary director of the Spider-Man film trilogy, Sam Raimi.
Sam Raimi has been claimed as the perfect preference for the film direction as claimed by Blizzards COO, Paul Sams stating that “Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures have a shared vision for this film and we searched at length to find the very best director to bring that vision to life”. Furthermore, adding that “From our first conversation with Sam, we could tell he was the perfect choice.”
There are many accolades concerning the five time academy award winner Sam Raimi, most recent one being the director of the paranormal ghost story Drag Me to Hell after writing and directing The Evil Dead and producing 30 Days of Night.
Raimi has been quoted saying that he has been thrilled to work on the action-packed story of the World of Warcraft and it would be a blockbuster production to make it appear on the silver screen. Pairing up with the producer of the The Dark Knight, Charles Roven, Sam Raimi feels thrilled to get the exploding creation of the World of Warcraft on screen. Joining the duo of Sam Raimi and his partner Robert Tapert would be Blizzard’s senior VP of creative development, Chris Metzen acting as the co-producer of the World of Warcraft.
Paul Sams has been quoted in his trust for Sam Raimi and on his expertise to simultaneously satisfy the devotees and the conventional spectators who may be witnessing the World of Warcraft content for the first time. Everyone is excited to be working with Sam Raimi on the project.

The news that World of Warcraft would be made into a motion picture by the renowned director Sam Raimi of the Spider-Man film trilogy has hit the market.
Paul Sams, COO for Blizzard shows gratitude by claiming Raimi to be the utmost preference on the film direction further claiming him to be the best director with the ability to bring vision to life. He also stated that this was something of a shared vision between the company Blizzard entertainment and Legendary pictures and had to be explored over a long duration of time. Raimi was indeed the perfect choice for Sams after their first conversation.
Raimi’s awards lists a total of 5 academy awards including the written and direction for the 30 Days of Night and the direction of the supernatural spirit tale Drag me to Hell.
Raimi has shown his interest in the World of Warcraft serious and action involved in it. He has been thrilled to get to work with such an exploding creative team and get it on the silver screen.
On coupling with the producer of The Dark Knight, Charles Roven, Saimi said, “I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen,” Chris Metzen, Blizzard’s senior VP of creative development will join this elite list as a co-producer with Sam Raimin and his partner, Robert Tapert.
Blizzard Sam’s commented on Raimi and his ability on simultaneously pleasing the fans and the majority spectators who would be witnessing such a genre for the first time. There have been expectations to achieve the same on this project working with Raimi.
